SOMERSET BOWLS ASSOCIATION 2012

Places change.
They made cheese in Cheddar and gloves in Yeovil, there were mines in Midsomer Norton,
chocolates in Keynsham and shoes in Street. There were printers in Paulton and cranes in Bath.
There were summer excursions to Weston-super-Mare. Much of this has gone and left Somerset
with the fertile car fields of Portishead and the concrete glow of Hinkley Point.
But – travel the length and breadth of Somerset and you are still never far from a bowling green.
Affiliated to Somerset Bowls Association, there are 90 clubs, with more than 6000 members
enjoying the sport of Bowls, from relaxing hours with friends to competitions as individuals, or in teams.
This is their web site.
