Somerset Bowls Association – Eligibility and Badging System –Final Version 5.0 (11/10/10)

 

Basic Eligibility Criterion – An affiliation fee must have been paid for the player.

Age Criterion – Players must not have reached the age of 25 years (31 years for Amy Rose) on 1st April in the year.

Merit Criterion – Four Merits earned over a period of no more than six years. Merits are awarded according to performance in competitions as shown in the following table.

Ø  Anyone selected to play for England (Senior or Junior) will automatically be awarded Senior Badge or Cap.

Ø  There are three options for the badge or cap – a player badged or capped may take up any or all of the options at his or her own cost. He or she is expected to take up at least one option.

Ø  An additional flash (same design) is awarded to players on their 100th appearance.

Ø  Badges, caps and flashes are supplied at the player’s own cost, except for the first each of Junior Colt enamel badge, 100 Club flash and two Presidential Blazer Badges.

Ø  For SBA merchandise, there will also be provided a white cap with maroon flash and tip of peak with SBA logo on front.

Ø  Whilst SBA, with necessary input from clubs, will endeavour to track entitlements and make awards in a timely fashion, any individuals who feel they have been overlooked are encouraged to make claims on their own behalf.
