Some clarification regarding the proposed unification
of SCBA and SCLBA
IMPORTANT.
Somerset bowlers should note the following:
None of the proposals concerning Unification will affect the way the game
of bowls is played in your club or in the county.
The proposals are no more than that. They represent the first steps along
what is intended to be a consultative process. The Unification Team
welcomes constructive comments and suggestions on the draft constitution,
organization chart and job descriptions. Please direct them either through
your County Secretary or to Mike Martin (at mike@larkhouse.wanadoo.co.uk).
It is intended that the role of the Council defined in the proposals be to represent all the members and to hold the Executive Board to account, through scrutiny of its processes and performance against targets. To do this, it will work something like a parliamentary select committee or like shareholders at a company AGM.
