JOB DESCRIPTION  

MIDDLETON CUP TEAM MANAGER

1.               To appoint 2 selectors (can be players if required), in conjunction with the Performance Manager and to be ratified by the Executive Board.

2.               To organise and manage the whole of the Middleton Cup and Balcomb Trophy campaign.

3.               Through the Administrative Secretary to ensure availability of all potential Middleton Cup and Balcomb Trophy players for all trials and matches.

4.               To be responsible for the selection of the men’s Middleton Cup and Balcomb Trophy teams, in conjunction with his own respective selection committee, ie Performance Manager who will also chair the meeting, Team Manager, 2 appointed selectors, 2 non-playing selectors voted on at AGM, Men’s Junior Team Manager (ex officio)  Administrative Secretary (ex officio). 

5.               To co-ordinate and oversee the assessment process and marking system for all trials and matches, to ensure a comprehensive assessment of all players.

6.               To liaise with the Performance Manager in arranging all meetings of selection as required.

7.               To prepare reports to the Performance Committee concerning match results, and individual, rink and team performance.

8.               To be responsible for all matters of discipline, motivation and counselling of the Middleton Cup and Balcomb Trophy teams.

9.               To appoint a Team Captain in conjunction with the selected squad.

10.            The Middleton Cup Team Manager’s appointment will be for 2 years with the first year being probationary subject to review after one year.
