Manager Purpose of
the Job ุ
To promote
the game of bowls to the people of Somerset Expenses:
ุ
Fixed amount payable per annum (as agreed by the SBA
Executive Board (EB)) to cover travel ุ
Other expenses payable, to a ceiling agreed by SBA EB
and verified by receipts Reports to: ุ
General Secretary Jobholders
Team: ุ
Assistants for some or all of the main activities, in
particular: o
Press and
Publicity o
Publishing
the Administrators Yearbook o
Web Site Main
Responsibilities: ุ
Supporting
(affiliated and prospective) clubs with ideas, initiatives and promotional
materials to attract new players and convert them into club members ุ
Establishing
effective contacts with local medias news and sports desks ุ
Collecting,
collating and scripting news stories for dissemination to the local media
and publication on the web site ุ
Attracting
and cementing the interest and support of local (& national)
businesses for advertising and sponsorship ุ
Maintaining a
record of any business conducted by marketing committees ุ
Gaining EB
ratification for any assistants appointed, and managing, developing and
co-ordinating them to support the jobholder in discharging these
responsibilities ุ
Consulting
widely to generate ideas and plans for development ุ
Managing
these responsibilities within the budget set by the EB ุ
Reporting
quarterly to the EB and annually to the Communications Meeting (each
April), Council Meeting (each October) and AGM (each November) Measures of
annual success: ุ
Number of
affiliated clubs and members ุ
Advertising
& Sponsorship income ุ
Amount of
